Lakeview falls short in four-set loss to CMC

PRINSBURG — The Lakeview volleyball team’s balanced offense wasn’t enough to pick up a win on Monday night as the Lakers fell short against Central Minnesota Christian in four sets. Lakeview won the first game 27-25 but dropped the next three by scores of 25-13, 25-22 and 25-23.

Olivia and Taylor Hinz each had nine kills on the night while Kiara Hinz had another eight. Aubreigh Rausch also had 24 set assists for Lakview.

Rausch also led the team’s back line with 22 digs while Taylor Hinz added another 17. Kiara Hinz also had 12 digs on the night.

In the front row, Olivia Hinz had two solo blocks and a pair of assists while Kiara had one solo and one assists. The Lakers did not record a serve on the night.

Lakeview (10-13) will wrap up its regular season in Clara City against No. 10 MACCRAY on Thursday night.

WWG 3, YME 0

WESTBROOK — The Westbrook-Walnut Grove volleyball team continued to roll over the competition with its fourth consecutive sweep, this time over Yellow Medicine East. The Chargers have now won nine of their last 10 matches.

The Chargers won the match with game scores of 25-17, 25-16 and 25-19.

Addison Jenniges led the Chargers with 35 set assists on the night. Her 12 digs were also second to Abby Wiggins’ 15.

On the offensive side, Natalie Wahl had 17 kills for WWG while Carlie Ross and Ella Knakmuhs had nine and eight respectively.

Kiara Sakry’s 23 digs were a game-high for Yellow Medicine East while Ella Cherveny had another 19. Riley Streich also had 10 while contributing 12 set assists.

Alana Almich and Abbey Bones had four kills each for the Sting. Almich also had five blocks on the night.

Westbrook-Walnut Grove (21-4) will wrap up its regular season at home against Red Rock Central tonight while Yellow Medicine East will wrap up its regular season in Clara City against No. 10 MACCRAY.
