MARSHALL– The Marshall Tigers were represented well on the Marshall Independent All-Area softball team announced on Friday.

The Tigers had two of their team-high seven selections on the first team with Halla Jo Casavan and Morgan Bjella. Marshall won the first game of the 2AAA section playoffs before bowing out on super Saturday to the No.7 team in the state New Prague. Hailey Gernentz and Amber Hensch also made the first team representing the TMB Panthers. Laken Baartman also made first team honors for the second consecutive year as an eighth-grader and her teammate Kya Alderson won player of the year for the Russell Tyler Ruthton Knights. Alderson compiled a 19-4 record with an ERA of 0.35 and had 278 strikeouts on the season including earning a first team spot.

The Falcons also have four players on the All-Area team with Mercedes Myers, Isabella Rentschler, Natalie Wahl and Chloe Ramthun as honorable mention.
