To the editor: The Pride in the Tiger Foundation Board of Directors, are proud to stand in support of Marshall Public Schools and the levy referendum on Nov. 4. Every day, we see how opportunities change lives. A student finding their voice in the school musical. A kindergartner getting the extra help they need from a classroom aide. To the editor: Last weekend I had the great fortune to attend the Lake Benton Opera House production of “RENT.” I want to applaud the entire cast, crew, and production team for making the choice to bring this powerful piece of theater to our area. RENT told an important story at the time it came out, and I was struck again with the powerful storytelling put forward by this production. Life under Trump Administration not so rosy To the editor: The economy is in shambles, grocery prices are up, car insurance, home and medical insurance are going up as much as 300% in some areas. What is Trump worried about? The Super Bowl halftime entertainment, Bad Bunny, who is an American citizen. I believe Republicans call that going woke. Gas prices higher in Marshall — why?

To the editor: Could our local gas stations and owners please explain to me and the public why gas prices in Marshall continue to be anywhere from five cents up to thirty cents more per gallon than those in some of our area communities. Kwik Trip in Pipestone is thirty cents per gallon cheaper for 88 fuel. I would think they would pay the same Minnesota gas taxes as our local Kwik Trip. And in smaller communities around Marshall, gas is almost always cheaper than Marshall. Why? In those South Dakota communities that are relatively close to us, they too are cheaper. Food donations important for those in need

To the editor: The Lyon County Democrats wish to thank the Marshall community for their generous donations to the Lyon County Food Drive held on September 27. We collected over 1,300 pounds of food and over $1000 in cash donations for the Kitchen Table Food Shelf. Hunger is a growing concern in Marshall and the need increases monthly. Nearly 500 families per month rely on the food shelf to make ends meet. Unfortunately, this situation will likely get worse.
