James Ourada

VESTA — Services for James “Jim” Edward Ourada, 69, of Vesta, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Lucan. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at the church with a 7 p.m. prayer service. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at church on Thursday. Burial is in Our Lady of Victory Catholic Cemetery in Lucan. Stephens Funeral Service – Redwood Valley Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

He died unexpectedly Saturday, June 15, 2019, following a courageous battle with cancer, at Methodist Hospital in Rochester.

He was born Nov. 2, 1949, at Tracy, to Francis and Marcella (Wacek) Ourada. In 1968, he enlisted in the US Navy and was deployed to Vietnam. He was proud to have sailed around the world while serving his country. He was honorably discharged in 1972.

Survivors include his wife, Ramona “Mona” of Vesta; children, Keith of Kasson, Jason of Vesta, and Lisa McCoy of Enterprise, Ala.; five grandchildren; and siblings, John of Salina, Kan., Ron of Fargo, N.D., Terry and Dave of Lucan, Lyle of Coraopolis, Pa., and Sharon Price of Mankato.
