Edgar Sherman

BALATON — Services for Edgar Wallace “Wally” Sherman, 87, of Balaton will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Balaton. Visitation will be from noon-1:30 p.m. Saturday at the church. Burial with military honors will follow the service at Lakeside Cemetery in Balaton.

He died Thursday, Aug. 9, 2018, at the Colonial Manor.

He was born Dec. 19, 1930, at home in Franklin to Edgar and Beatrice (Sather) Sherman. He was drafted into the U.S. Army and served stateside during the Korean War. He completed boot camp at Fort Bliss, Texas, and was then stationed in Detroit, Mich.

Survivors include his children, Beatrice Olson of Marshall, DeAnna Sandquist of Minnetrista, Reinhart of Timberon, N.M., foster daughter, Sara Connelly of Marshall; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Robert of Bemidji; and mother of his children, Charlotte of Franklin.
