COTTONWOOD – Services for Ginger Joan Baune, 81, of Cottonwood will be 10:30 a.m. today at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Cottonwood. Visitation will be one hour prior to Mass at the church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

COTTONWOOD – Mass of Christian Burial for Ginger Joan Baune, 81, of Cottonwood, will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Cottonwood. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the church with a rosary service at 4 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to mass at the church on Wednesday. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The Sunset Funeral and Cremation Association is caring for the family. Memorials preferred to Prairie Home Hospice or a charity of your choice.

She died Friday, Nov. 13, 2015, at her home in Cottonwood, surrounded by family.

Ginger Joan Baune was born Aug. 12, 1934, in Ruthven, Iowa, to Arthur and Pearl Osterson Clesle Eato. She lived in Iowa until her teenage years, and then moved to Morton. She attended high school in Morton.

On July 7, 1953, she was united in marriage to Reynold Baune at St. John’s Catholic Church in Morton. Ginger spent seven years of her life working at Schwan’s in Marshall and the remaining years of her life as a loving homemaker.

Ginger enjoyed upholstering with Reynold, sewing, crossword puzzles, counted cross stitches, and playing bingo. She spent a lot of time with grandchildren and loved them very much. Additionally, she was an active member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Cottonwood.

She is survived by her 10 children: Joseph Baune of Wood Lake, Doug and Theresa Baune of Wood Lake, Sue and Bill Hanson of Armstrong, Iowa, Debra Jones of Wood Lake, John (“Jack”) and Kim Baune of Redwing, Sandra and Dave Dworshak of Morton, Sharon and Brad Matthys of Cottonwood, Troy and Kristy Baune of Aurora, Colo., and Todd Baune of Cottonwood. She had 22 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.

She is survived by her brothers, Richard and Linda Waite of Poulsbo, Wash., Jon Waite of Poulsbo, Wash., Frank and Mary Beth Johnson of Fort Dodge, Iowa. She survived by her sisters Diane and Ron Karg of Glencoe, Mavis Burdick of Austin, Rose Planting of Esterville, Iowa, Candy of Austin and Donna Eaton of Montevideo.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, one brother, one sister, one great-granddaughter and her parents.
