This weekend’s rainy weather paused just long enough for students attending the Marshall High School junior and senior prom to gather for a photo session with family and friends. Students dressed their best and headed to the campus of Southwest Minnesota State University on Saturday afternoon.

The parent-led photo shoot has become something of a tradition before the Marshall prom. This year, students lined up on stairs surrounding the central courtyard at SMSU for junior and senior group portraits.

Later that evening, more than 250 students took part in the Grand March and dance, with the theme “Enchanted Garden.” Event organizers also had a full night of events planned for students, from a hypnotist performance before the dance, to after-prom activities and prizes.
