MARSHALL — At least one person was injured in a two-vehicle crash involving a semi truck Wednesday on U.S. Highway 59, the Minnesota State Patrol said. A two-year-old child was taken to Avera Marshall Medical Center with non life-threatening injuries, the State Patrol said.

Information about the status of other passengers and drivers in the crash would not be released until late Wednesday night, the State Patrol said.

The crash was reported at 11:43 a.m. Wednesday at the intersection of Highway 59 and Windstar Street in Marshall. At the time of the crash, a 2011 Peterbilt semi truck driven by an Appleton man, 36, was southbound on Highway 59, and a 2012 Buick Enclave driven by a Tracy man, 36, was northbound. The vehicles collided in the intersection of Highway 59 and Windstar, the State Patrol said.

The State Patrol reported that a passenger in the Buick, a two-year-old boy, was taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries. A State Patrol media release said there were two other passengers in the Buick, a 36-year-old Tracy woman and a three-year-old child. However, information on the names of the drivers and passengers involved in the crash, and whether they were injured, had not been released as of Wednesday afternoon. The State Patrol said the information would be released at 11:30 p.m.
