Balaton man sentenced for child porn possession
MARSHALL — A Balaton man received five years probation for possessing pornography involving minors, Lyon County court records said. Anthony James Jandl, 32, appeared at a sentencing hearing in Lyon County District Court on Tuesday.
In March, Jandl had pleaded guilty to four counts of possessing pornographic work involving minors. According to a criminal complaint, the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office was contacted in February 2022 about a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. A cloud storage service had flagged images in an account associated with Jandl’s cellular phone, the complaint said. Pornographic images involving minors were extracted from the phone, the complaint said.
At Tuesday’s sentencing hearing, Jandl received a stayed prison sentence, a total of $2,000 in fines, and five years supervised probation, court records said. Conditions of the probation included that Jandl serve 90 days in jail, have no unsupervised contact with minors, and abide by predatory offender registration requirements.
Four additional charges of possession of pornographic work involving minors were dismissed, court records said.
