Lyon County reappoints VanMoer

MARSHALL — Lyon County highway engineer Aaron VanMoer has been reappointed for a four-year term with the county. County commissioners voted Tuesday to reappoint VanMoer for a term running through May 31, 2025.

At Tuesday’s county board meeting, Lyon County Administrator Loren Stomberg said VanMoer’s term as highway engineer was technically supposed to end in May. However, the anniversary of VanMoer’s first appointment to the highway engineer position was in October.

“I think it’s pretty easy to recommend he be reappointed,” Stomberg told commissioners.

VanMoer has served as county highway engineer since October 2013. He was reappointed to another four-year term in May 2017.

VanMoer’s new four-year term runs from June 1, 2021, to May 31, 2025.
