Taste of Marshall returns awards and recognitions

MARSHALL — The Taste of Marshall returned Monday after being canceled in 2020 because of the COVID-19 pandemic featuring 20 area restaurants and vendors.

The Marshall Area Chamber of Commerce reported that 425 people attended the event inside the Red Baron Arena and Expo.

Attendees voted on the following vendor awards:

Best Booth Display

• First place: Lingen Dairy

• Second place: Main-Stay Café

• Honorable mention: Tall Grass Liquor

Best Product

• First place: Lingen Dairy — Grilled Cheese

• Second place Tavern 507 — London Broil Skewers

• Honorable mention: Hitching Post — Ribs, and Main-Stay Café — Chicken Wild Rice Soup

Most Unique Product

• First place: Mike’s Café — Pumpkin Pancakes

Second place: Tavern 507 — Bison Brat

Honorable mention: Holmberg Orchard — Caramel Apple Slices with toppings

Annual meeting

The chamber’s annual meeting was also held during the Taste of Marshall. The meeting recognized the accomplishments over the past year. The chamber ended the year with 579 members.

Awards were given to the following:

Volunteer of the Year: Michael VanDrehle, Precision Marketing

Rookie of the Year: Desiree Petrich, Marshall Area Chamber

All Star Award: Chet Lockwood, Lockwood Motors

Business of the Year: Hy-Vee Food Store

Non-Profit of the Year: Marshall Area YMCA

Hospitality Award: Pravit “Vit” Rojawat, Hunan Lion
