Ruthton woman pleads guilty to criminal vehicular operation

PIPESTONE — A Ruthton woman charged with criminal vehicular operation in 2017 pleaded guilty in Pipestone County District Court on Tuesday, court records said.

Pauline Christin Jensen, 50, of Ruthton, appeared at a plea hearing on Feb. 25, court records said. Jensen pleaded guilty to criminal vehicular operation. Additional charges of criminal vehicular operation, driving while impaired, driving after revocation and failure to stop for a collision that caused an injury were dismissed.

A December 2017 criminal complaint said Jensen struck a 13-year-old boy with her vehicle at the Buffalo Ridge Express gas station in Ruthton. The injured boy was taken to the Tyler hospital and later airlifted to Sioux Falls, the complaint said.

At Wednesday’s hearing, Jensen received a stay of imposition of sentence, and three years’ probation, with conditions including that she serve 30 days in jail, pay a $1,000 fine, undergo a chemical dependency evaluation.
