Gold College kick-off March 18 at SMSU

The Southwest Minnesota State University spring session of GOLD College will kick off on Wednesday, March 18 starting at 2:15 p.m. in Charter Hall 201 on campus. Registration will be held from 2:15-3 p.m. Gold College participants will have the opportunity to pick up class schedules and parking permits while enjoying refreshments. Marshall speech team competes in Forest Lake, Luverne

The Marshall Tiger varsity speech team finished 6th out of 32 teams at the Forest Lake Speech Tournament last Saturday. Leading the way for the Tigers was senior Jack Pedersen who finished 2nd overall in humorous. Senior Isaiah Schroeder also earned high honors by advancing into final rounds in all three of his events. The Tiger C-squad competed at Luverne on Saturday. Ninth-graders Nenna Onyeaghala and Maddy Van Keulen led the way by placing 3rd in informative and 4th in drama respectively for the Tigers.

VFW art contest open to students The local Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 742 of Marshall Auxiliary is offering to eligible students in the area the chance to enter the Young American Creative Patriotic Art Contest. Students in grade 9-12 who are enrolled in a public, private or parochial high school or home study program are eligible, but should not be over the age of 18 at the time of entry.
