SMSU fall semester dean’s list Southwest Minnesota State University students have been honored for academic achievement during the fall semester 2021. An undergraduate student who completes 12 or more A-F graded credits and achieves a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher will be considered for the honors dean’s list. Sanford Health commits $500,000 to SMSU Foundation to honor legacy of former baseball coach Dr. Jim Denevan

The Southwest Minnesota State University Foundation has received a $500,000 gift from Sanford Health to recognize the legacy of former Mustang baseball coach Dr. Jim Denevan. The gift will be funded over five years by Sanford Health, which employs two of Jim’s sons. Jim, Jr., is vice president of Construction and Planning, and Tom is a property management specialist. A third sibling, Teresa, also lives in Sioux Falls. The endowment will support baseball scholarships at the university. SMSU Theater’s 54th season continues with “Personal History” by Dominic Taylor. Performances are Dec. 9, 10, 11, 2021 at 7:30 pm and Dec. 12 at 2 pm.
