Rothschadl named to SNHU president’s list Keith Rothschadl of Cottonwood has been named to Southern New Hampshire University’s winter 2023 president’s list. The winter terms run from January to May. Full-time undergraduate students who have earned a minimum grade-point average of 3.700 and above for the reporting term are named to the president’s list. Full-time status is achieved by earning 12 credits over each 16-week term or paired 8-week terms grouped in fall, winter/spring, and summer.

Boedigheimer Inducted into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi Savannah Boedigheimer of Marshall was recently initiated into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation’s oldest and most selective all-discipline collegiate honor society. Boedigheimer was initiated at University of Nebraska at Omaha. Boedigheimer is among approximately 25,000 students, faculty, professional staff and alumni to be initiated into Phi Kappa Phi each year. Membership is by invitation only and requires nomination and approval by a chapter. Only the top 10% of seniors and 7.5% of juniors are eligible ...

Sherman named to dean’s list Logan Sherman of Balaton has been named to the University of Jamestown’s spring 2023 dean’s list for maintaining a semester GPA of 3.50 or better. John named to dean’s list Tabora John of Marshall was among approximately 800 Bob Jones University students named to the spring 2023 dean’s list. The dean’s list recognizes students who earn a 3.00-3.74 grade-point average during the semester.

In what appears to be an obscure story in the Old Testament book of 1 Kings, we find Elijah the prophet being fed by ravens (the only bird known to hoard food); he is then by a starving widow from a place called Zarepheth. She obeys the prophet’s orders, as the Lord directed both of them to be tested in order that they might trust in the Lord’s provision and power. It’s an odd tale. The widow has only enough flour to make a small cake for her last meal with her son. Yet the Man of God directs her to feed him first, then herself and her son. Ironically she complies. Larson to graduate from WTS Vicar Sara Larson will graduate on May 14 from Wartburg Theological Seminary in Dubuque, Iowa, and has completed her master of Divinity through WTS while serving at First Lutheran Church and at the Avera Hospital and Morningside Nursing Home in Marshall. In October of 2020, she started at Borgund Lutheran outside Madison, Minnesota Valley Lutheran near Louisburg, and Zion in Appleton.
