I love the gospels’ regular use of seeds as metaphors because so much of our faith life is all about acting on belief alone, hoping that one day those actions will bear fruit. Garage sale fundraiser today-Saturday Mothers in Christ is having a garage sale fundraiser from 4-7 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Marshall Efree Church, 410 Airport Road, Marshall. The event is a name your price garage sale. All profits will help fund Mothers in Christ. Life Chain Sunday There will be a peaceful pro-life demonstration of silent prayer and humble supplication to God on behalf of unborn children and their mothers from 2-3 p.m. Sunday at the corner of Main Street and College Drive. Pet blessing Oct. 5 The Little Portion Secular Franciscans of the Marshall area are sponsoring a “Blessing of the Animals” at 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct.5,i n the parking lot of Holy Redeemer Church, Marshall. Cinnamon roll fundraiser Sunday The Catholic Daughters are have a fresh cinnamon rolls fundraiser this Sunday at Holy Redeemer Church. Rolls will be available for sale after the 8 a.m. Mass and the 10 a.m. Mass. Blue Mass Sept. 29 in New Ulm Bishop Chad Zielinski will celebrate a Blue Mass on at 5:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 29, at the Church of St. Mary in New Ulm. A light reception will follow. First responders and military personnel are encouraged to wear their uniforms. Members of the Knights of Columbus will also be present. The public is welcome to attend.
