Tigers bounce back with dominant win over St. Peter

ST. PETER — After back-to-back losses to top-5 opponents, the No. 2 Marshall volleyball team bounced back on Tuesday with a straight-sets victory over St. Peter in Big South Conference play. The Tigers fell to No. 3AAAA Maple Grove and No. 1AAA Benilde-St. Margaret’s at the Southwest Challenge over the weekend, but got right back on track with a 25-10, 25-10, 25-10 sweep. GRANITE FALLS — The Yellow Medicine East volleyball team wasn’t able to pick up its first win of the season on Tuesday, falling 25-21, 27-25, 25-19 to Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg in Camden Conference play. The Lakers claimed the first set 25-22, but they lost the next three 25-20, 25-23, 25-9 to fall in four sets in Camden Conference play. The red-hot Chargers built off a balanced defensive effort to pick up a 25-10, 25-13, 25-11 sweep of Heron Lake-Okabena in Red Rock Conference play.
