GRANADA — Westbrook-Walnut Grove football opened its season on the road Friday, facing a difficult early test against GHEC. The Chargers ultimately fell 42-14, but the season opener provided an opportunity for WWG to gain valuable experience and identify areas to improve moving forward. MARSHALL — Just like the girls soccer team, the Marshall boys soccer team is also off to a 1-1-1 start through its first three matches of the season. The Tigers opened the season with a strong showing against Apollo, earning a 3-0 victory. Marshall followed that win with a road matchup against Breck a couple of days later, where the Tigers fell 3-1. The Tigers opened the season against St. Cloud Cathedral, falling 2-1 in their first match. Marshall began the season with a challenging matchup against Chanhassen on its home court. COTTONWOOD — Coming off its first win of the season, Lakeview volleyball returned home looking to keep its momentum going against Murray County Central. The Lakers did just that, sweeping the Rebels 25-21, 25-21, 25-22 to improve to 2-1 on the season. St. Joseph, Mo. – The No. 10 ranked Southwest Minnesota State volleyball team (3-1) dropped a hard-fought 3-1 decision to No. 11 ranked Missouri Western State on Thursday night at the MWSU Fieldhouse.
