SMSU women’s golf sixth place following round one of the 13-team Maverick Brawl

HUDSON – The Southwest Minnesota State women’s golf team carded a score of 43-over-par 327 on Monday and is currently in sixth place after round one of the 13-team Maverick Fall Brawl hosted by Minnesota State University at the par-71 Troy Burne Golf Club. SMSU trails fourth place, Minnesota State and Pittsburg State (Kan.), by two shots while sitting four strokes behind third place Concordia-St. Paul. Tigers roll in day one of Southwest Minnesota Challenge

MARSHALL — Playing host to the 2026 Southwest Minnesota Challenge, Marshall volleyball continued to show why it has been so dominant early in the season. The Tigers opened their Friday, Sept. 11 slate against Sioux Falls Roosevelt and wasted little time taking control. Marshall cruised to a pair of convincing victories, winning 25-8 and 25-4 to sweep the Rough Riders. SMSU football to host free youth clinic as part of Ag Bowl this Saturday

MARSHALL The Southwest Minnesota State University football program will host a FREE youth clinic as part of the annual Ag Bowl this Saturday, Sept. 12, at Mattke Field at The Schwan Regional Event Center. The clinic is open to youth in grades K-6 and will begin at 1:15 p.m. until 2 p.m. No registration is required. Lakeview sweeps Edgerton on the road

EDGERTON — The Lakeview volleyball team’s strong defensive effort at the net led the Lakers to a 3-0 sweep over Edgerton in a Thursday non-conference matchup, 25-16, 25-15, 25-13. The Lakers finished the day with blocks from Jaela Schmidt, Taylor Hinz, Laia Javens, Allison Isaacs and Avery Hinz. WABASSO — A bounce-back second set wasn’t enough for the Wabasso volleyball team when it hosted Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s for a Tomahawk Conference matchup on Thursday. The Rabbits dropped the first set 25-14 before claiming the second 25-16, but St. Mary’s edged out the Rabbits in the final two sets, 25-23 and 26-24. GRANITE FALLS — The Yellow Medicine East volleyball team wasn’t able to get in the win column when it hosted Redwood Valley for a non-conference matchup Thursday night.
