Marshall boys fall to LDC 9-1 on the road

Prep boys hockey roundup, Dec. 12

LITCHFIELD — The Marshall boys hockey team were outworked on the offensive end in a 9-1 loss on the road Friday night to Litchfield/Dassel-Cokato. Morgan Rokeh scored the Tigers’ goal, assisted by Brenden Price.

The Dragons set the tone early with a 4-0 lead after the first period, and outshot Marshall 18-4.

Overall, the Tigers finished with 13 shots while Litchfield kept firing away and finished with 54 attempts.

McCoy Guenther spent the night in the net for Marshall, finishing with an .833 save percentage.

The second period went scoreless for both teams, while Litchfield scored in the opening minutes of the third to take a 5-0 lead before Rokeh found the back of the net to get Marshall on the board.

Yet, the Dragons had a response and didn’t allow the Tigers to embark on a comeback attempt with another four goals to end the night, three of which were scored within three minutes of each other.

Marshall committed four penalties to Litchfield’s two, all minor.

The Tigers move to 1-5 and will look to turn things around and end a four-game skid when they return home to the Red Baron Arena on Tuesday to host Willmar at 7 p.m.

Starting at $3.95/week.
