Senior, Marshall
Taleigha Bigler is a senior guard for the Marshall girls basketball team. Her play has been highlighted by her well-rounded game, averaging 16.7 points, 3.9 assists, 4.8 rebounds and 2.9 steals last year to rank second in all categories. Bigler helped the Marshall girls basketball team to a state runner-up finish last year, scored for the Marshall girls cross country team in its state championship run her sophomore year and has racked up nine state track and field medals, including being a member of a 2024 4×800-meter relay team that set the state record in the championship.
Q: When did you start playing basketball?
A: I’ve been playing my whole life with my dad [Brad Bigler] being the head men’s basketball coach [at Southwest Minnesota State], so I grew up in the gym.
Q: What’s your favorite sports memory?
A: All the seasons for Marshall sports. Everything I’ve been a part of has been really fun, we’ve had good runs for championships.
Q: What’s your favorite movie?
A: How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days.
Q: What’s a hobby that you have outside of sports?
A: I like to go to my grandparents’ house and go horseback riding.
