Get to Know: Brynn Kockelman

Brynn Kockelman
Senior, Canby
Brynn Kockelman is a senior starting guard for the Canby girls basketball team, and a starting setter for the volleyball team. She has played on the varsity level for both sports her entire high school career, and most recently helped lead the volleyball team to a 20-11 finish this season and maintain a top-10 status in the Minnesota Volleyball Coaches Association poll. She finished the volleyball regular season with 222 kills, 434 set assists and 224 digs.
Q: How long have you played basketball and volleyball?
A: I’ve played varsity basketball for five years, and volleyball, I’ve been on the varsity team for four. [I’ve been playing] since I was little.
Q: Is there a specific reason you wear jersey number 13?
A: I think just ever since my eighth-grade year, I’ve just loved the number 13.
Q: What are some of your
favorite sports memories?
A: Basketball, I just love all the moments I get to spend with my teammates, and in volleyball, I love the locker room pre-ritual that we have.
Q: What is your pregame routine?
A: My pregame routine is, I like to listen to music, and when I watch the first two [teams], the C-squad and B-squad games, I really just like to focus on what I need to get done for the game and what our game plan is.
Q: What is your dream job?
A: My dream job is to be a vet. I want to help animals.
