Remiger, Gloege take first at Montevideo Invitational

MONTEVIDEO — Lakeview’s Tate Remiger and Lac qui Parle Valley/Dawson-Boyd’s Brynn Gloege both came out on top for a first-place finish in the 5,000 meter race at the cross country Montevideo Invitational Tuesday afternoon at the River Crest Golf Course.

The Lac qui Parle Valley/Dawson-Boyd boys team finished the day in third place, with a team score of 75 points.

The Lakeview boy’s team finished in fourth place out of seven teams with 108 points, while Remiger ran eight seconds ahead of Montevideo’s Adam VanBinsbergen to take first place with a time of 17:19.90.

Thane Matthys also had a strong race for Lakeview, finishing the day in 13th place with a 19:37.4 time, out of 44 individual runners.

For Lac qui Parle Valley/Dawson-Boyd, Collin Rosendahl led in fifth place with a time of 18:38.50, and Landon Kemen ran a 19:13.8 for a 10th-place finish.

The Lac qui Parle Valley/Dawson-Boyd girls team came away with a first-place finish, with a team score of 36 ahead of Montevideo’s 40 points.

Gloege took first by a large margin with a time of 21:20.50, 18 seconds ahead of BOLD’s Keeley Jansen in 21:38.50.

Chloe Gloege came in fifth with a 22:19, while Laura Schreier followed in ninth with a 22:50.

Lakeview’s Shelby Remiger led the Lakers with a 13th-place finish with a 23:34.70 time.

Lakeview and Lac qui Parle Valley/Dawson-Boyd will both next compete at the Central Minnesota Christian meet on Monday at the Hawk Creek Country Club.
