PRINSBURG — The No. 2 Minneota Vikings added to their program’s extensive volleyball trophy case on Monday with yet another Camden Conference title. Going on the road to take on the top team from the Camden South, Central Minnesota Christian, the Vikings had plenty of players get involved offensively and defensively as they swept the Bluejays 25-16, 25-20, 25-23.

Eden Meagher played a major role for the Vikings as an attacker and a defender. Her four blocks were a team-high, her 10 digs tied defensive specialist Autum Anderson for a team-high and her seven kills ranked third on the team.

Senior Sarah Gruenes led the Vikings in kills on the night with 11 while Jaylyn Coequyt added another nine.

Minneota’s setting duo of Libby Sussner and Sophie Gillund continued to spread the ball around effectively, with 17 set assists for Sussner and 16 for Gillund. The duo also set up six kills for Leah Coequyt and Gillund hit three of her own.

At the net, Gillund, Gruenes and Leah Coequyt made an impact with one block each. At the service line, Sussner, Anderson and Madison Minnehan each served up an ace.

Minneota improves to 24-6 with the win and enters the Section 3A tournament with the top seed. The Vikings will host No. 8 Yellow Medicine East in the 3A North quarterfinals on Friday at 7 p.m.

Starting at $3.95/week.
