Marshall junior Brooklyn Mauch was named to the Big South Conference’s All-Conference girls tennis team, announced on Monday. After spending her sophomore year as a doubles player, Mauch stepped up into the top singles role for Marshall this season and thrived to lead the Tigers as a top player.

Mauch compiled a 12-8 season in her debut season as a singles player, also winning a match in the Section 2AA tournament before falling in the quarterfinals.

Mauch was Marshall’s lone selection to the All-Conference team.

Marshall finished fifth out of seven teams in the Big South Conference-Black Division. The Tigers went 2-4 in the conference on the season, tying fourth-place Tri-City United and sixth-place New Ulm.

St. Peter won the Black division at a perfect 6-0 before falling to St. James Area of the Gold Division in the conference championship, and St. James went on to win a state championship.
