Andrew Stelter

Senior, Marshall

Andrew Stelter is a senior running back and linebacker for the Marshall football team. He averaged 5.9 yards per carry as a change-of-pace back for the team last year and has had success as the bell cow this year, leading the team in rushing as the Tigers finished the regular season at a perfect 8-0.

Q: When did you start playing football?

A: I first started tackle football in fifth grade

Q: Who was your favorite athlete growing up?

A: Harrison Smith.

Q: What’s your favorite movie or tv show you’ve seen recently?

A: Happy Gilmore 2, the new one that came out, I’m a fan of that one

Q: So are you a golfer as well? What’s the best part of your golf game?

A: I like to golf in my free time. [My strength is] long game all the way. Don’t try me on the short game, it’s not good. 

Q: Do you have any idea what your longest drive is?

A: Probably around 300 yards.

Q: What’s your favorite football memory with this team?

A: Probably last year going to state was a bunch of fun memories, hanging around with the team and getting to be able to practice at the Gophers’ facility and in US Bank Stadium.
