Schuerman’s PR leads Tigers at Redwood Falls Invitational

REDWOOD FALLS — Aidan Schuerman put together a personal-best time to earn a fourth-place individual finish at the Redwood Valley Invitational on Thursday, leading the Marshall boys cross country team to a third-place finish out of seven teams.
Schuerman ran a time of 17:01 in the meet, trailing only Redwood Valley’s Tyler Robinson and Dylan Anderson at 16:38 and 17:00, and Wabasso’s Andrew Morin at 16:55.
Marshall put together a team score of 74 points. Redwood Valley won the meet with 32 points, followed by Windom Area at 57. Tracy-Milroy-Balaton also placed sixth in the meet with 190 points.
Charles Mueller-Thompson also earned another personal record for Marshall to finish eighth out of 113 runners in the meet. The freshman clocked in at 17:23 to cross the line as Marshall’s No. 2 scorer.
Marshall middle schoolers Noland Munson and Isaac Leibfried placed 18th and 19th for the Tigers in the meet, clocking in right behind one another at 17:53 and 17:54.
Corbin Leibfried was Marshall’s final scorer in the meet placing 28th at 18:59.
Jaxter Pfarr and Weston Marten each set new personal records for TMB, leading the Panthers in 39th and 40th place. Pfarr, a freshman, finished at 19:43 while Marten, a junior, finished at 19:54.
On the girls side, Wabasso freshman Elsie Leopold put together a time of 19:47. The time gave her a new season record and made her the meet runner-up behind Redwood Valley senior Addie Thomes at 19:43.
Wabasso placed fourth out of six teams on the girls side with 115 points. Redwood Valley, Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop and Minnesota Valley Lutheran took the top three spots with 36, 96 and 104 points.
Gracelyn Fogelson also placed 21st in the meet at 24:04 while Abi Zeug placed 24th out of 55 runners at 24:26.
