KMS 8, TMB 1

MILROY — Defensive struggles and a lack of run support doomed the Tracy-Milroy-Balaton baseball team on Tuesday night. The Panthers committed seven errors and combined for just six walks and hits in an 8-1 loss to Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg.

KMS scored its first run of the game in the top of the first on a wild pitch. The Panthers came back in the bottom of the frame when Jeret Ankrum hit a leadoff single and scored on a Trevor Smith single. Unfortunately for TMB, that would be the team’s only run of the game.

From there, it didn’t take long for the Fighting Saints to surge ahead. Three second-inning errors gave KMS five runs for a 6-1 lead and they never looked back.

Alex Munson got the start for TMB, getting tagged with the loss after pitching the first five innings. He allowed seven runs on eight hits and a walk, but only two of the runs were earned runs. He also struck out three batters.

Noah Knakmuhs pitched two frames of relief, allowing one unearned run on two hits while striking out three batters.

Espn Radke led TMB offensively with the team’s lone extra-base hit of the day, a double. Smith and Knakmuhs each also singled. Ankrum also stole a pair of bases on the day while Radke stole one.

TMB falls to 7-4 with the loss and will look to tighten up its defense when it heads to Prinsburg for a matchup against Central Minnesota Christian on Thursday at 4:30 p.m.

LQPV 11, Lakeview 0

COTTONWOOD — The Lakeview baseball team had no answer for the Lac qui Parle Valley offense on Tuesday night, allowing runs in five of the game’s six innings in an 11-0 loss.

The Lakers did not get a single hit on the night. The team’s only base runners were Tucker Fiene and Brooks Smith, who each drew a walk and stole a base.

Fiene was charged with the loss on the mound, allowing eight earned runs and one unearned on eight hits and seven walks. He was relieved by Joe Caron after the first 3 2/3 innings. Caron held LQPV to one earned run and one unearned in the final 2 1/3 frames, allowing three walks and a pair of hits.

Dyllon Geiser was perfect for the first two innings for LQPV and finished the day with 13 strikeouts in the no-hitter.

Lakeview falls to 1-7 with the loss and will look to rebound when it hosts Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg on Thursday at 4:30 p.m.
