Four Tigers announce college commitments

MARSHALL — Four Marshall High School athletes announced their intent to continue playing their respective sports at the next level in the fall.

Tate Condezo and Dylan Louwagie both qualified for the state wrestling tournament as Marshall Tiger teammates last year. Now, they’ll officially be competing together for four more years after high school. The dynamic duo both committed to stay in Marshall and compete with Southwest Minnesota State. Louwagie is a two-time state runner-up and has 205 wins already as he prepares for his senior season.

The duo will be signing on Monday at 7 a.m. alongside Anna Kuecker. A two-sport athlete, Kuecker will be committing to play soccer at Minnesota Crookston. She also joined the cross country team her senior year and helped the Marshall girls team to its first-ever state championship last week.

A week later on Nov. 20 at 7:15 a.m., Morgan Bjella will be signing her letter of intent to play volleyball at Minnesota State Mankato. The senior All-State opposite hitter is second on the team with 285 kills and counting this season as she looks to help the Tigers to their third consecutive state title. She’ll take the court in the Marshall black and orange at least one more time for the state semifinals today at 9 a.m. in St. Paul and, with a win, would compete again on Saturday for a state title.
