RTR earns sweep over LQPV Tuesday
MADISON – The Russell-Tyler-Ruthton Knights’ volleyball team came away with a straight-sets victory over Lac Qui Parle Valley on the road Tuesday night.
Ella Hesse and Abby Carr lead the team in kills, with 20 and 14 respectively. Hesse also contributed 12 digs, just shy of Tatum Hess’ team-high 15. Kyah Ellefson lead the team in set assists, with 23.
Following the win, RTR (6-3) will play again tonight, when they host MACCRAY at 7:15 p.m.

DAWSON – The Blackjacks’ volleyball team squeeked by on their home court for a win in four sets against the Lakeview Lakers Tuesday night. After winning the first set 26-24, the Blackjacks dropped the second set 25-20 before winning out 25-19, 25-22.
Kate Dahl and Ayiana Hastad were the dynamic duo for the Blackjacks in terms of hitting, with 14 and 12 kills respectively. Hastad also led the team in digs with 15 and aces with four. Bailey Bothun contributed another nine kills, as well as six set assists, and Chelsie Husby had a team-high 40 set assists to go along with 12 digs.
Dawson-Boyd will play their next game tonight on the road against Canby at 7:15 p.m., and Lakeview will host KMS at 7:30.

RENVILLE – The Sting volleyball team fought until the bitter end, but came up short in their 3-2 road loss to Renville County West Tuesday night. Yellow Medicine East came back to win the fourth set and force a first-to-15 tiebreaker set, but fell 15-12.
Ruby Bones played outstanding in front of the net for the Sting, finishing the game with five blocks and nine kills. She also contributed four aces and a pair of digs. Aria Peters led YME in set assists with 35 while also making defensive plays, including 12 digs. Kayla Nordaune led the Sting in digs with 19.
Yellow Medicine East (1-8) will host Central Minnesota Christian tonight at 4:45 p.m.

MORGAN – The Wabasso Rabbits suffered a 3-1 loss to the Cedar Mountain Cougars on the road Tuesday night.
Despite the loss, Kelsey Frank put forth an admirable performance. She had team-highs in blocks, assists, and digs, while also contributing an ace. Avery Carlson led the team in kills with 13, while Alivia Olson chipped in another 10. Carlson also was second on the team in digs with 18.
Wabasso (5-5) will stay on the road when they face off against New Ulm Cathedral tonight at 7 p.m.
