GRANITE FALLS — The Yellow Medicine East baseball team looked to keep its late regular season momentum going against Pipestone Area on Friday after earning a 9-0 victory against Tracy-Milroy-Balaton the day before. But the Arrows had other ideas and rebounded from a loss to Marshall with a 10-2 victory against the Sting.

Pipestone Area jumped on the Sting in the first inning, scoring four runs before adding an additional four runs in the third, extending its lead to 8-0. The Sting couldn’t get their bats going and weren’t able to score a run until the bottom of the sixth inning already down 9-0.

The Sting would get another run in the seventh but only amassed four hits in the ballgame and had three errors. YME head coach Trevor Schulte spoke on his team’s performance in the game.

“Well today, we were just flat-out tired,” Schulte said. “It’s been a heavy two weeks, playing a lot of games, it’s Minnesota weather so we have to go with it. We want to keep getting better and improving each day getting ready for sections.”

Outfielder Cody Dahlager for the Sting led the team in hits with two and drove in lone RBI in the game.
