TUESDAY PREP SPORTS ROUNDUP: No. 10 RTR takes down No. 3 Canby, 3-1

CANBY — The No. 10-ranked Russell-Tyler-Ruthton volleyball team defeated No. 3-ranked Canby 3-1 (25-13, 25-23, 19-25, 25-19) on Tuesday.

Abby Carr led RTR with 15 kills while Ella Hesse added 14 and Camry Swanson had 13. Hesse led in digs with 16 while Gabbi Borresen added 11. Borresen also led in set assists with 35.

Maya Wente led Canby with 21 kills while Gabby Harding added 16 and Mackenzie Janiszeski had seven. Gabby Harding led in digs with 17 while Janiszeski added 16, Kyla Rangaard had 15 and Paige Nelson had 13. Nelson led in set assists with 29 while Rachel Harding added 24.

RTR (16-9) will await for its Section 3A tournament opponent while Canby (19-4) will face Minneota at home today at 7:15 p.m.

PIPESTONE — The Murray County Central volleyball team fell to Pipestone Area 3-1 (24-26, 20-25, 25-17, 17-25) on Tuesday.

Emily Rohrer led MCC with 16 kills while Abby Loosbrock added five. Camdyn Kluis led in digs with 20 while Kiana Felber and Ciera Tutt each added 12 and Zoey Iverson had 11 and Kate Slettum led in set assists with 28.

MCC will face Edgerton on the road today at 7:15 p.m.

MOUNTAIN LAKE — The Westbrook-Walnut Grove volleyball team fell to Mountain Lake Area/Comfrey 3-2 (23-25, 25-9, 25-19, 15-25, 13-15) on Tuesday.

Kelsey DeSmith led WWG with 16 kills while Carlie Ross added nine and Natalie Wahl had eight. Isabella Rentschler led in digs with 35 while DeSmith added 32 and Macie Christians had 25 and Addeson Jenniges led in set assists with 40.

WWG (10-14) will face Pipestone Area on the road today at 7:15 p.m.

Natasha Doubler led Wabasso with 12 kills while Ashlyn Daub and Alivia Olson each added 10. Kelsey Frank led in digs with 17 while Audrey Johnson added 15 and Frank also led in set assists with 34.

Wabasso (6-14) will face Minnesota Valley Lutheran next Monday at 7:15 p.m.

Reese Johnson led DB with 15 kills while Kate Dahl added 11 and Ayiana Hastad had nine. Dahl led in digs with 14 while Alivia Haas added 12 and Chelsie Husby led in set assists with 40.
