STARK — The Milroy Irish amateur baseball team opened its 2021 season with a 7-6 victory against Stark on Sunday.

Dominic Dolan led the Irish with three hits and two RBI while Ben Heichel and Jake Plaetz each added two hits and an RBI.

Beau Priegnitz earned the victory on the mound, going three innings while allowing three runs on five hits and struck out three. Tyler Peterson tossed three innings in relief, giving up three runs on five hits and struck out four and Heichel threw the final inning, giving up one hit and striking out two.

The Irish (1-0) will face Sacred Heart on the road on Friday at 7:30 p.m.
