YME tennis falls to Sauk Centre 4-3
GRANITE FALLS — The Yellow Medicine East girls tennis team fell to Sauk Centre 4-3 on Tuesday.
YME was able to win three of its four singles matches. Ashley Niemeyer defeated Sauk Centre’s Briana Middendorf 6-1, 7-5 at the No. 2 spot while Liz Ross defeated Sauk Centre’s Addy Hoffman 6-0, 6-2 at the No. 3 spot and Macie Sik defeated Sauk Centre’s Hailey Hokanson 7-5, 6-3 at the No. 4 spot. Sauk Centre’s Audrey Zenzen defeated YME’s Cherish Hammer 6-4, 6-1 at the No. 1 spot.
In doubles action, the YME duo of Kyra Kvam and Chloe Van Sickle fell to Sauk Centre’s Gaby Dickinson and Julia Marthaler 6-3, 6-2 at the No. 1 spot while YME’s Hope Foy and Katelyn Luepke fell to Sauk Centre’s Lisa Weir and Kate McKeown 4-6, 6-1, 6-3 at the No. 2 spot. Sauk Centre’s Heidi Lieser and Avery Rieland defeated YME’s Hope Stark and Maddie Luft 6-1, 6-2 at the No. 3 spot.
YME will face MACCRAY on Thursday at 4:30 p.m.
