Milroy Yankees chosen as new host of Class C tournament
MILROY — The Class C state amateur baseball tournament has a new spot for this summer.
The Minnesota Baseball Association announced on Monday night that Yankees Field, home to the Milroy Yankees will be the second location for this year’s Class C tournament along with Springfield. The announcement came after the New Ulm City Council voted 5-0 to cancel hosting the tournament on Friday.
The MBA also said the Class B tournament will take place in Shakopee.
The state tournament will begin on Aug. 20 and finish on Sept. 7.
