Lamberton earns pair of wins over the weekend

LAMBERTON — The Lamberton Long Sox continued its red-hot play on Sunday, with Lamberton rolling past Fairfax 19-1 in seven innings.

Fairfax would take an early 1-0 after the first inning, but it was all Lamberton from there. The Long Sox scored five runs in the bottom of the third before adding six more runs in the fourth to take an 11-1 lead. After a Johnny Pistulka’s RBI single in the fifth, Lamberton scored seven more runs in the sixth to bring it to the 19-1 final.

Pistulka had a couple of hits and four RBI while Tyler Reiner added two hits and two RBI and Josh Altermatt and Adam Schumacher also had a pair of hits.

Shane Schoborg earned the victory on the mound, going five innings while allowing one run and striking out two.

Lamberton (6-1) will face Sleepy Eye on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.

GIBBON — The Lamberton amateur baseball team saw a historic pitching performance during their game against Gibbon on Saturday, as Nick Altermatt, Adam Schumacher, Johnny Pistulka and Neil Eichten combined to throw a no-hitter in a 9-0 victory.

Altermatt pitched the first five innings, striking out 10. Schumacher and Pistulka each tossed an inning, combining for three strikeouts while Neil Eichten tossed the final two frames, striking out three to complete the no-hitter.

Colby Pack, Tyler Reiner and Pistulka each hit a home run to lead the way offensively for Lamberton.
