TRACY – With an average of 88.5 points scored through its four-game winning streak, the top-ranked Minneota girls basketball team has been nearly unstoppable on the offensive end of the floor prior to Monday’s contest against Tracy-Milroy-Balaton.

Led by a 24-point night by Natalee Rolbiecki, the Vikings continued their frenzied scoring pace in their latest matchup against the Panthers with a 91-56 win. The victory moves Minneota to 18-1 overall this season and 10-0 in the Camden Conference standings.

Both teams shot red-hot from the field to start the first half but it was the Panthers who were able to get the better of the scoring exchanges in taking an early 5-2 lead via baskets from Maddi Langerock and Mariah Mayer. Led by Abby Hennen and first-half leading scorer Morgan Hennen, the Vikings took their first lead of the game at 6-5 and pushed it to 12-5 moments later following a 7-0 run.

After a hard drive to the basket by Kiana Benson and a three-pointer by Langerock that cut the TMB deficit to four at 14-10, Minneota created some separation on the scoreboard once again with a 12-5 run led by Ireland Stassen. With the pace of play favoring Minneota, the Panthers were able to generate one last run to cut the deficit to five at 26-21 before the Vikings pulled away down the stretch.

By the end of the first half, Rolbiecki and both Hennens reached double figures in scoring and provided the offensive lift needed to give the Vikings a 56-37 advantage at the break. Morgan Hennen paced all scorers with 18 points in the half, while Rolbiecki and Abby Hennen added 14 and 10 points respectively for Minneota. TMB was led by Jordan Munson’s nine points and Jadyn Lessman with eight.

After combining to score 93 points in the first 18 minutes of play, the two teams cooled off a bit in the second half with both defenses clamping down and eliminating open shots. The Vikings–who limited the Panthers to only 19 points in the second half–got the better of the defensively-dominated second half and still managed put 35 puts on the board in the 91-56 win.

Minneota will be back in action on Thursday when the team travels to Clara City to take on MACCRAY at 7 p.m. TMB (11-6, 8-3) will be back on its home court today to take on Martin County West at 7:30 p.m.
