SMSU GOLF: SMSU in seventh place following round one of BSU Tournament

BEMIDJI – The Southwest Minnesota State women’s golf team opened its 2019-20 season on Monday shooting a 57-over-par 345 in the first round of the 10-team Bemidji State Tracy Lane Memorial Tournament held at the par 72 Bemidji Town and Country Club.

Rain was persistent throughout the round making scoring difficult for all teams. SMSU is currently in seventh place but trail second place by just eight shots.

Augustana is the first-round leader with a 36-over 324 and holds a 13-shot advantage over second place Minot State.

Hannah Kohls shot SMSU’s low round with a 9-over 81 and is currently tied for second place in the 58-player field. Anna Davison is tied for 10th with a round of 11-over 83, Sally Gallagher shot a 16-over 88 and is tied for 33rd, Anneke Weg carded a 21-over 93 and is tied for 42nd while Courtni Frank is tied for 44th following a round of 22-over 94.

Hanna Hankinson of Augustana is the individual leader at 3-over 75.

The final round will begin this morning.
