SMSU GOLF: SMSU golf earns 10th place finish at CSP Golden Bear Classic

LAKE CITY – The Southwest Minnesota State women’s golf team concluded play at the Concordia-St. Paul Golden Bear Classic on Tuesday finishing in 10th place at the 13-team event held at The Jewel Golf Club.

SMSU shot identical rounds on Monday and Tuesday of 342 to finish with a score of 108-over 684.

Augustana earned the team title with a 30-over 606, finishing 19 strokes ahead of the University of Sioux Falls. Alex Stone of Augustana shot a 3-under 69 today to win the individual title with an even-par 144.

Sophomore Anna Davison shot SMSU’s low round on Tuesday at 9-over 81 and finished tied for 26th in the 84-player field with a score of 19-over 163.

Mustang junior Hannah Kohls tied for 34th overall with a 21-over 165, following today’s round of 13-over 85. Freshman Sally Gallagher carded a 15-over 87 today to shot 30-over 174 for the tournament and finish in a tie for 49th. Freshman Courtni Frank shot a 17-over 89 today and finished 63rd at 38-over 182, while freshman Natalie Bohnert rounded out SMSU’s line-up with a 100 today and placed tied for 77th at 58-over 202.

Freshman Sydney Noel played as an individual and shot 112 today and finished the two rounds at 77-over 221.

Southwest Minnesota State returns to the course this Saturday and Sunday hosting the 23rd annual Ramada Mustang Invite at the Marshall Golf Club. First round action begins at 1 p.m. on Saturday followed by the final round starting on Sunday morning.
