AMATEUR BASEBALL ROUNDUP: Lamberton earns doubleheader split against Searles, Leavenworth

LAMBERTON – The Lamberton Long Sox earned a doubleheader split on Sunday, falling to Searles 11-9 before bouncing back with a walk-off win against Leavenworth 4-3 in 15 innings.

Against Searles, Isaac Jenniges led the way for the Long Sox with a 4 for 5 day at the plate while Donald Strand added three hits.

Against Leavenworth, Neil Eichten led the way for the Long Sox with a 3 for 7 day at the plate with an RBI while Isaac Jenniges had three hits and Austin Irlbeck added a pair of hits, including delivering the game-winning RBI base hit with the bases loaded in the bottom of the 15th inning.

Josh Altermatt earned the victory in relief, tossing the final inning.

Lamberton (7-4) will face Jackson on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.

Cottonwood 5,

Hancock 0

COTTONWOOD – The Cottonwood amateur baseball team defeated Hancock 5-0 on Sunday.

Seth Plotz led the way for the Cardinals with a 1 for 4 day at the plate with two RBI while Chris Berg added a pair of hits and Kollin Hanson had a hit and an RBI.

Seth Boerboom earned the victory on the mound, going nine innings while allowing no runs on four hits and striking out eight.

Cottonwood will face Marshall on Friday at 7:30 p.m.

SACRED HEART – The Milroy Yankees amateur baseball team fell to Sacred Heart 9-8 on Sunday.

Eric Dolan led the way for the Yankees with a 2 for 4 day at the plate with two RBI while David Schmidt added a hit and three RBI and Cooper Taylor had a hit and two RBI.

Mahlon Zimmerman took the loss in relief, going 2.1 innings while allowing four runs on eight hits and striking out two.

The Yankees will face Jackson this Saturday at 6 p.m.

HADLEY – The Milroy Irish defeated Hadley 13-2 in seven innings on Sunday.

Brady Lanoue led the way for the Irish with a 4 for 5 day at the plate, including a home run and had three RBI while Dominic Dolan and Anthony Dolan each added a pair of hits.

Cody Mather earned the win on the mound, going six innings while allowing two runs on nine hits and striking out nine.

Nick Bruning and Joe Larson led the way for the Buttermakers with three hits apiece. Sam Erickson earned the start, going four innings while Bruning tossed the final three in relief.

The Irish will face Luverne on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. while Hadley will face Raymond on Friday at 7:30 p.m.
