AREA ATHLETICS: MCS to hold winter sports league meetings tonight

MARSHALL – Marshall Community Services will be hosting an organizational meeting tonight for their winter adult sports leagues.

The Men’s Recreational Basketball and Men’s Over 30 basketball league meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. while the Men’s volleyball, Co-Recreational volleyball and Women’s volleyball league meeting will be at 7 p.m. followed by the Mixed Curling league meeting at 7:30 p.m.

All meetings will be held at the Council Chambers of the Municipal Building and all teams who are planning on participating must have a member present at the meeting.

All rosters and fees are due to the Marshall Community Services office by 4:30 p.m. on Oct. 17. Player fees for basketball and volleyball leagues are $35 while team fees for basketball are $300 and volleyball are $200. The team fee for mixed curling is $250. Additions to the basketball and volleyball roster are allowed until Jan. 25, 2019.

Basketball and volleyball leagues begin the week of Nov. 12 while curling league will begin on Oct. 28. Basketball leagues will be on Wednesday nights at Marshall High School and men’s volleyball will be on Thursday nights at Samuel Lutheran. Co-Rec volleyball will be on Monday nights at Marshall Middle School/Parkside while women’s volleyball will be on Tuesday nights at Parkside. Curling will be on Sundays or Wednesdays at the Red Baron Arena and Expo.
