YMCA has made my life much richer

To the editor: I didn’t think it would be difficult when I agreed to write a short article sharing some of my thoughts and memories about the Marshall Area YMCA. As it turns out, though I have over a decade of experience with the Y, working in many departments for the first 13 years it was open, I don’t have a lot of clear memories about it. To the editor: I want to thank the City of Marshall for their hard work crafting a plan for the new aquatic center in Marshall. It seems like a very good plan, but we must acknowledge that no plan can be flawless. We have learned in our business that there’s a point when something is good enough that you need to advance. To the Editor: I am writing to express my support for the aquatic center building project proposed by the City of Marshall. At Avera Marshall, we know that health care isn’t the only component to a healthy lifestyle. Having fun, engaging facilities that encourage exercise for kids and adults can have a great impact on the well-being and vitality of a community and its residents. To the editor: It was gratifying to experience such a positive response to our DFL contingent at the SMSU Homecoming Parade. Clearly, people see and appreciate what Democrats (known as the DFL in Minnesota) get done.
