Ritter will do excellent job as mayor

To the editor:

My time as a member of the city council in the mid-1970s involved serving with Bill Ritter (father of Steve). Forward to the 1990s in my second time of being on the city council, I served with Dan Ritter (brother of Steve). I found both to be very dedicated and hard working individuals as elected citizens serving the city of Marshall.

My experience with Steve Ritter, a candidate for mayor of Marshall, included being a fellow member of the Marshall Volunteer Fire Department for a period of about 20 years. In addition, as a county commissioner, Steve was involved with meetings and interaction with the city of Marshall council while I was a council member. I would suggest that Steve Ritter wold do an excellent job as mayor of Marshall for many reasons, not the least of which includes the following:

1. His years of experience as a business owner in various ventures for 40 years.

2. His time in an elected position as county commissioner which included acting as chairperson.

3. He has experience in finance, budgeting and other responsibilities related to governmental management and fiscal action.

I would urge the citizens of Marshall to cast their vote for Steve Ritter as the next mayor of Marshall.
