Plan to pay it forward
To the editor:
This is a letter of thanks to a gracious person who paid for our meal. A neighbor and I were in line at Taco Bell on Thursday, June 25, at 12:25 p.m. and I ordered food for five boys who were fishing , my 92-year-old mother and myself. We ordered boxes of burritos, nachos and pizzas. The bill came to $30.20.
When we got to the window, I was handing the clerk the money and they told me the bill was taken care of. I said, “what, how did that happen?” The clerk explained that the person in front of me had paid for my bill. I was surprised and struck with a sense of someone else’s kindness. I did not get a chance to thank that person, nor did I know who it was as they had already left. I hope they read this and know it was greatly appreciated. The teenage boys who were fishing really appreciated it. My grandson was in awe that someone would do that.
I will be doing the same for someone who is line behind me the next time I get takeout. Maybe that person who paid for me will be the one behind me next time. All I can say is there are people who have a big heart and are kind and caring. There’s hope for the world yet to be that better place. Thank you again to whoever yo are.
