Francis “Fran” Sturm

MINNEOTA—Mass of Christian Burial for Francis “Fran” Sturm, 75, of Minneota, will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, November 28, 2025, at St. Edward Catholic Church in Minneota. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at church. Interment with military honors will follow the service at St. Edward Catholic Cemetery. Military honors provided by U.S. American Legion Post 199 of Minneota and VFW Post 5334. Francis George Sturm was born on June 5, 1950, in Clarkfield, MN, to Alphonse and Ann (Sussner) Sturm. RUSSELL — Services for Betty Louise McConnell (Otto), 84, of Russell will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Grace First Parish Church in Russell, Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Friday at the Hartquist Funeral Home in Pipestone, and an hour prior to the service at the church Saturday. Burial will follow the service at the Russell City Cemetery in Russell. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Hartquist Funeral Home in Pipestone. She died Saturday, Nov. 22, 2025, at the Lockwood Hospice House in Marshall.

CANBY — Services for Helen L. Johnson, 81, will be 11 a.m. Monday at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Canby, with visitation one hour prior to the service.  Burial will be in the Hope Lutheran Cemetery, Minneota.  Houseman Funeral Home, Birk Chapel in Canby is entrusted with the arrangements. She died Thursday, Nov. 20, 2025, at the Sanford Canby Medical Center.

MARSHALL — A prayer service for Charlotte Grow, 105, of Marshall will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Marshall. Following burial at the Marshall Cemetery, a reception will be held back at Hamilton Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of her service at 11 a.m Monday. Guestbook is available online at www.hamiltonfh.com. To honor Charlotte’s favorite color, the family requests purple attire on Wednesday, to the best of your ability. She died Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2025, at the Avera Marshall Regional Medical Center.

MARSHALL — Services for LeRoy “Doc” Affolter, 93, of Marshall are 11 a.m. Monday at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Marshall. Burial will be at the Marshall Cemetery, followed by a reception back at the church. Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. Sunday at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Marshall. The evening will conclude with a prayer service at 5:30 p.m. Visitation will then continue one hour prior to his celebration, from 10-11 a.m. Monday, at the church.
