Robert McCorquodale

March 2, 1956-Sept. 13, 2021

PIPESTONE — Services for Robert Ray McCorquodale, 65, of Pipestone will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at First Lutheran Church in Pipestone. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Friday at First Lutheran Church in Pipestone. Private family inurnment will be at the Echo Cemetery in Echo. Arrangements are entrusted to the Hartquist Funeral Home – Pipestone Chapel.

He passed away Monday, Sept. 13, 2021, at the Pipestone County Hospice House in Pipestone surrounded by his children.

Robert “Corky” Ray McCorquodale was born March 2, 1956, to Ramona (Peterreins) McCorquodale in Redwood Falls. He was baptized and confirmed at Wood Lake Methodist Church. He attended school in Wood Lake where he was active in sports. After graduation, Robert was a company driver for many companies ranking up millions of miles in his over 50 years of being on the road before starting his own company in 1998, Corky’s Express, Inc.

Bob was a hard worker, who spent much of his life on the road to provide for his family. He was a loyal man who would give anyone the shirt off his back. His children and grandchildren knew they could call him for anything and he would find a way to get them what they wanted.

There was never a dull moment with Bob around. He was quick to give you a hard time and make you laugh. Bob was a popular man with a heart of gold and no filter on his words.

Robert is survived by his three children, Kristina (Greg) Meulebroeck, Robert (Melissa) McCorquodale, and Matthew (Breanna) McCorquodale; grandchildren, Mason, Caden, Dane, Ashlynn, Tenli, Coyer, Piper, and Keiran; siblings, Peg (Rob) Schlenner, Becky (Dale) Walker, Nancy (Curt) Olson, and Judy McCorquodale; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Ramona McCorquodale and baby sister, Connie Lou.
