Adeline Brown

Feb. 15, 1923-July 23, 2019

IVANHOE — Mass of Christian Burial for Adeline Brown, 96, of Ivanhoe will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Ivanhoe. Burial will be St. John Cantius Catholic Cemetery, Wilno. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., with a 7 p.m. prayer service, Friday at the Houseman Funeral Home, Birk Chapel in Ivanhoe.

She passed away Tuesday, July 23, 2019, at the Sylvan Court Nursing Home in Canby.

Adeline Angeline Brown was born Feb. 15, 1923, in Royal Township, Lincoln County to parents, Frank and Mary (Chopski) Jerzak. She was Baptized and Confirmed at St. John Cantius Catholic Church in Wilno. She attended country school through 8th grade. Adeline was united in marriage to Raymond Brown on July 21, 1947 at St. John Cantius Catholic Church and they were blessed with four children. They farmed together until Ray passed away in 1991. Adeline moved to her home in Ivanhoe in 1994. She enjoyed the company of family and friends, Ladies Guild, Rosary Society and Senior Center. She volunteered at the Divine Providence Nursing Home, played cards and loved a good game of Bingo. She especially enjoyed birthday parties with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and they dearly loved spending time with her. Adeline took great pride in her daily diary entries for the past 72 years. In November 2018, she entered the Sanford Sylvan Court Nursing Home in Canby.

Grateful for sharing Adeline’s life are her children, Diane (LeRoy) Frank, Canby, Larry (Babs) Brown, Canby, Randy (Sherry) Brown, Porter, and Lori Brown, Sioux Falls, S.D.; grandchildren, Kari (Jeff) Harding, Canby, Michael (Shelly) Frank, Canby, David (Christine) Frank, Canby; Kayce (Cody) Olson, Canby, Jessica (Brandon) Mamer, St. Leo, Nikki (Kent) Walth, Harrisburg, S.D., Dan (Kelly) Madsen, Centerville, OH, and Ginger (Jamie) Hakes, Albertville; great-grandchildren, Nolan, Gabby and Rachel Harding, Caullin and Maya Frank, Josie Frank, Blake (Kacie) Haugen, Preston Walth, Carter and Bryce Madsen, Jordyn and Jaylen Hakes, Olivia and Ryan Olson and Suttyn Mamer; great-great-grandchild, Jaden Haugen; brothers, Henry (Arlene) Jerzak and Norbert Jerzak; sisters-in-law, Audrey Jerzak, Frances Jerzak and Clara Brown.

Adeline was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ray; sisters, Irene Winter and Alice (in infancy); brothers, Victor, Richard, Eugene, Emil, Andrew and Cyriel; great-grandchildren: Ethan Frank and Adam Harding.
