Gary Muecke

SLAYTON — Services for Gary Russell Muecke, 75, of Slayton will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Christ Lutheran Church in Slayton. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the church. Burial is at Slayton Memorial Gardens in Slayton.

He died Thursday, Dec. 27, 2018, at his home.

He was born Dec. 23, 1943, in Slayton, to Walter and Madeline (Holm) Muecke. He was drafted into the Army in 1966. He did basic training in Fort Leonard Wood, Mo. From there he was stationed at Fort Riley, Kansas. In April 1967, he was stationed in Vietnam serving in the 137th Engineer LE Company — 18th Engineer Brigade Tam Quan, returning home in January 1968.

Survivors include his wife, Dottie of Slayton; sons, Gary Jr. of Slayton and Chad of Fulda; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and siblings, Walter Jr. of Slayton, Sharon Schultz of Westbrook, Orian of Plymouth, Dennis of Slayton and Trudy Biegler of Iona.
