SLAYTON — Services for John Richard Johnson, 82, are at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Dovray. Burial is at Our Savior’s Lutheran Cemetery in Dovray. Military honors accorded the Dovray American Legion Post and the Westbrook VFW Post. He died Wednesday, June 13, 2018, at the Murray County Medical Center in Slayton

He was born Nov. 13, 1935, on the family farm in Des Moines River Township, Murray County, to Marlowe and Amy Ewen Johnson. On Jan. 5, 1955, he enlisted in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany. He was honorably discharged Nov. 29, 1957.

Survivors include his wife, Elaine of Currie; children: Natalie Schmidt of Slayton, Tom of Eden Prairie, Barb Kiesow of Forest Lake, Eric of Lake Elmo and Ann Ott of Elk River; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Sandra Grams of Storden and Craig of Savage.
