TYLER – Services for Emily Nielsen, 72, of Tyler will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Dionysius Catholic Church in Tyler. Visitation with viewing will be from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, with a prayer service at 6:30, all at Hartquist Funeral Home, Utoft-Johansen Chapel in Tyler. Burial will be in St. John Cantius Cemetery at Wilno. Arrangements are provided by Hartquist Funeral Home, Utoft-Johansen Chapel in Tyler.

She died Saturday, May 2, 2015, at Avera Heart Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

She was born Nov. 24, 1942, to John and Magdaline (Gawarecki) Ratajczak in Royal Township, near Ivanhoe.

Survivors include her husband, Victor Nielsen of Tyler; sons, Kevin VanDerostyne of Lake Preston, South Dakota, and Brian VanDerostyne of Tyler; daughter, Linda Sutherland of Lake Benton; step-daughter, Victoria of Tyler; two grandchildren; siblings, Deloris Citterman of Mundelein, Illinois, JoAnn Leitz of Ivanhoe, Roseann Popowski of Mundelein, Illinois, Joseph Ratajczak of Ivanhoe, Emil Ratajczak of Ivanhoe, Helen Sik of Benson, South Dakota, and Harry Ratajczak of Ivanhoe.
